Warehouse duties: Writer
What you might hear in my presence:
Hey there! My name is Diane and I’m here at IW to put the nuances about your IP into words in a way that will capture the attention of the right people at the right time with the right message. While I prefer the term ‘free lancer’ over ‘free loader’, I prefer the term ‘paid lancer’ even more – and that is my role with Innovator’s Warehouse. Little a knight in battle I will wield my pen (and keyboard) with finesse and vigor, to defend and promote your IP.
I’ve been working as a writer in the IP field for over six years, earning several Communicator Awards of Distinction. Backing up those six years are an additional 7 years experience in the marketing industry, as a business development manager, account manager, product manager and direct marketing manager, working with both start-up and Fortune 500 companies. In each of those roles I was met with success and recognized by my colleagues and clients not only by my short stature, but for my team player approach, good humor and willingness to go the extra mile to exceed expectations.
While I have nearly 15 years of relevant professional experience, my seemingly irrelevant experience as an impressionable youth comes in handy at times, too. As the youngest of seven kids growing up in rural Iowa, nothing was handed to me, unless it was handed-down in the form of clothes. I started working as a nanny during the summers at the age of 13, leaving home to the wilds of the cities of Minneapolis and eventually Chicago, fostering my independence, responsibility and work ethic at an early age. All of these attributes got me through college, as I was responsible for paying my own way, which I chose to do in style. Through work study programs, waitressing and grounds keeping jobs, I even managed to sneak away for a semester in London, fostering my adventurous side.
Now that I’m a grown-up (defined by age only), I continue to take pride in my work ethic, team player attitude, and my commitment to the task at hand. I also continue to foster my adventurous side with my leisurely pursuits, which include cycling, horseback riding, running, and skiing. When I can’t be outside, I can be found inside enjoying music and putting a little paint on canvas.
These are just some of the things that define me, which I think also define the kind of company IW is geared up to be – a hard-working, innovative place with an adventurous spirit and tenacious will to succeed, through the success of our clients. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?
Welcome to the Warehouse
Diane
