Innovative Women

I found a couple of super innovative women in the news I wanted to feature this week. The first is a mom who grew tired of her baby’s constant hair pulling. It can be pretty painful when your 1 year old’s little, sticky, hand goes in for the kill and grabs a huge handful of hair, giggling, all the while gripping and pulling at the roots. Not so much fun when it’s happening to you. This is why Jessica Frandson of Twistband created this innovative new hair accessory.

I remember the days of the scrunchy. I grew up in the 80′s and everyone owned one. After the scrunchy’s popularity waned most people switched to elastic bands. While they are useful, they fall out, they break, and are not very comfortable worn around your wrist, and well, they are boring too. I know this firsthand, because my 1 yr. old hair pulling kiddo #2 has me constantly wearing ponytails and always wearing an extra elastic band around my wrist. Thanks to Jessica and Twistbands, there is a savvy solution.

Twistbands are ponybands and headbands made of elastic trim. They stretch to support any hairstyle, yet are slim and sleek enough to wear on your wrist when you want to let your hair down. Twistbands are available in a variety of colors, patterns and fabrics to complement any style. And with prices ranging from $10-12 for a set of three you can have one in every color!

The cool thing about the Twistband is the slew of ways you can use them. Wear it as a bracelet; wear a branded Twistband to make a statement; commemorate a bachelorette or birthday party with custom-printed bands … the uses are endless! You can have your own logos or messages printed on them, and you can even use them as shoelaces.

Kudos to you Jessica Frandson, not just for your idea, but for having the wherewithall to launch a successful business around it! Get your own Twistband here.
